EMBA

Welcome EMBA Alumni, current students and visitors to the Alumni section of the Executive MBA website.

Our EMBA Alumni Society launched this past summer after the University produced its 6th class of EMBA graduates. I am proud to be a member of the EMBA 6 graduating class, grateful for the help and wisdom offered to me by members of previous classes and very happy to have been drafted as the organizing chairman of the new EMBA Alumni Society.

In this section, you will find a number of pages that are aimed at keeping you in touch with all the latest news about our graduates and the many events that we’re planning for the year ahead. These include social events, networking events and other opportunities for lifelong learning.

Regular updates will be sent to all alums and will also be posted in this section. We are also launching a blog section where you will be invited to share your thoughts and experiences about the EMBA program and its impact on your life.

The EMBA Program and the EMBA Alumni Society are working together to provide continuing resources and opportunities to EMBA graduates. Get involved in our new EMBA Alumni Society today.

-Susan Swinburne, EMBA 6 Graduate and Alumni Society Chair

The Loyola Marymount University Executive MBA Program has a small but active alumni group. We have one hundred and twenty alumni from our first seven graduating classes.

The Executive MBA program attracts motivated mid-career executives who seek to advance themselves professionally, and as alumni they continue to excel in their careers. Many Executive MBA alumni have reported promotions, new positions, and business start-ups, and have expressed their appreciation of the impact the program has had on their careers.

Executive MBA alumni value their experience in the program. In a recent focus group of graduates from the first few classes, the program attributes they most frequently cited were:

  • Personal growth, maturity and self-confidence
  • The value of team experience, with peer learning and diverse colleagues helping them view people differently
  • The emphasis on a general management and leadership mindset, rather than on functional business disciplines
  • The intimate setting of small class size, with the personal attention of and access to faculty

Executive MBA alumni continue to participate in the intellectual life of the College of Business Admistration through back-to-school seminars with program faculty, as well as distinguished speaker series and other College events. They automatically become members of the Loyola Marymount MBA Alumni Association, which includes over 2,000 graduates of LMU's evening MBA Program. Executive MBA alumni also have access to the evening program's MBA Career Services Office.
