Associate Manager, Global Consumer Products
Crystal Batrez oversees Operations and Systems management for the Global Consumer Products team at Mattel. She is responsible for system to system asset migration and development, product approval system management and development, user training and process/communication flow between our regional Consumer Products teams and Global Brand Teams.
Her past roles include Project Management in packaging development and sign manufacturing as well as Education Specialist in the non-profit sector.
Crystal has a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology with a concentration in Archaeology from UCLA and a certificate in Project Management from CSUDH.
Kim Chansky is an experienced marketing professional specialized in medical device and biotechnology industries. Her expertise spans strategic planning, product development and commercialization of integrated systems. Over the past 17 years, Kim has a demonstrated track record of accelerating corporate growth through new product revenue and profit, market-share gains, cost-saving measures, and strategic partnerships.
Kim brings experience managing product portfolios at start-up companies and global corporations including Medtronic Diabetes, Applied Biosystems and Osmetech Molecular Diagnostics. She has received awards for leading cross-functional teams, producing product innovation and implementing market research results. Most recently, Kim was the Senior Strategic Partnership and Product Manager at Neoteryx, where she served on the company leadership team.
Kim holds a BS degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology with a minor in Modern Literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Michael Coleman is the Assistant Principal of Business Operations and Human Resources for the Los Angeles Academy of Arts and Enterprise a business and arts Charter school in Downtown Los Angeles where he is responsible for overseeing payroll, talent acquisition, operations and learning and development. He also manages and coaches a team of 15 new and veteran teachers.
He previously worked as an Assistant Principal at The Accelerated School in South Los Angeles.
Michael received a Master’s degree in School Building Leadership and a Master’s degree in Teaching from Mercy College in New York and his bachelor’s degree in Media and Communications from SUNY Old Westbury.

Suzanne Davison has more than 20 years of progressive leadership experience with the Walt Disney Company. In her current role as a senior manager in the Creative Costuming organization, Suzanne provides global theme park clients with inventory planning, supply chain management, and customer service support. Responsible for more than $40M annually in global and domestic production, Suzanne works to ensure the delivery of quality costume products to partners around the world.
Suzanne’s most recent career highlight includes spearheading the relocation of a 40,000 square foot production facility from Anaheim to Orlando, including the transfer of all manufacturing equipment, fabric inventory, work product, and other assets. She also led the installation of RFID technology for the domestic costuming organization to improve inventory speed, efficiency and accuracy. Prior to working on the costuming team, Suzanne spent 10 years doing event planning at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Suzanne holds a degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems
Jeff DeFazio is a project manager for Northrop Grumman. He manages a team of managers, engineers and technicians who assemble, test, and launch highly sophisticated spacecraft and spacecraft components. Previously, Jeff held positions in Mechanical Test Engineering, Mechanical Design Engineering, and Launch Systems Engineering.
These positions have exposed Jeff to both technical and business components of the aerospace industry. His professional development has included experience in cost account management, earned value management, scheduling, sub-contract management, procurement, integration and testing, mechanical design, stress analysis, orbit analysis, manufacturing, systems engineering, and spacecraft launch.
Jeff’s holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA. He has also completed certificate courses in Engineering Management and Project Management from USC and Caltech.
Flat Rate Tickets
Ari Fife manages the operations of a midlevel ticket brokerage company (Flat Rate Tickets) as the COO, whose annual growth rate has averaged approximately 20% since Ari’s arrival there five years ago. Before he began trying to figure out how to dominate the ticket world, Ari spent more than a decade working in New York and LA as an actor, singer and producer.
To help pay his rent, Ari worked a myriad of more colorful jobs that actors pursue in their spare time, among them serving as a bouncer in Times Square and helping to manage a wine shop in Union Square.
A member of Actors Equity, Ari holds a BFA in Musical Theater from Pace University in New York as well as a sommelier’s certification.
Associate Director, Fred Kiesner Center for Entrepreneurship

Darlene Fukuji is the associate director at the Fred Kiesner Center for Entrepreneurship at Loyola Marymount University where she is dedicated to helping students and alumni in their business ventures through co-curricular activities. She has a personal passion for the success of the program as she earned her B.A. from the Fred Kiesner Center for Entrepreneurship and is a founder of the LMU Entrepreneurship Society.
She is also the lead organizer for Techstars Startup Weekend in Los Angeles, a 54-hour event where designers, developers, marketers, and startup enthusiasts come together to share ideas, form teams, and launch startups. This is the starting point for many entrepreneurs and fosters the local Silicon Beach startup community.
Darlene was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and has a passion for startups, community service, education, socially responsible businesses and problem solving to make the world a better place.

Joanna Gonzalez is currently the Executive/Management Assistant at Cedars-Sinai Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute’s, Clinical Research Office. During her tenure, Joanna has managed to lead numerous projects resulting in favorable outcomes, such as: publicizing monthly bulletins that articulate policies/process, training/education, accrual/metric and research updates within the Institute.
Joanna’s strong critical thinking and analytical skills have been fundamental when collaborating with the Associate Director in the assessment process of editing business proposals. In addition to her duties, Joanna provides administrative coordination, support, and is the point of contact for the growing clinical research office of 120+ staff members.

Dahlia Gutierrez is currently an independent consultant in the banking arena.
Previously she was a Senior Vice President at Santander Bank where she was responsible for credit risk management of the banks’ $13 billion commercial real estate portfolio. Prior to joining Santander she worked for GMAC and Unicon Financial Services. Her responsibilities at Unicon included providing consulting services to commercial banks needing performance, risk and operations improvements. Dahlia has held management positions in origination, underwriting, portfolio management. She successfully managed, lead, and motivated small and large teams through business unit re-organizations.

Owazolem Idah is Manager, Global Visual Merchandising and Retail Operations at Estee Lauder- Smashbox Cosmetics. She is responsible for managing the merchandising systems for key North America retailers as well as International regions including UK, APAC, LATAM, and Travel Retail. She also manages the Visual Merchandising capital and operations budget at Smashbox Cosmetics with the Smashbox Finance team.

Katie Jones is a Client Service Executive with Marsh & McLennan Agency’s (MMA) Employee Health & Welfare Division. With ten years of employee benefits experience, Katie is skilled in self-funding and reference based pricing programs, strategic planning, mergers & acquisitions and keeping a pulse on emerging trends in the marketplace.
Katie joined the firm in 2014 as a Client Manager, quickly taking on increasing responsibility. In her current role, she oversees the service team, and is responsible for managing employers’ benefits programs and the overall service delivery to her clients.
With the opening of MMA’s downtown L.A. office, Katie was the first Client Service Executive responsible for onboarding new business, growing a team and continuing to expand MMA’s brand presence in the Greater Los Angeles Area.

Consuelo Lomeli is the Manager of Performance Measurements at Western Asset Management Company. She is responsible for the implementation of Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®); the calculation and dissemination of investment performance results; and the construction of marketing composites.
Consuelo began her career in the asset management field at Banc of America Capital Management (BACAP); she joined the Market Risk Department as an INROADS intern, which led to a permanent role upon graduation.
Consuelo is a Certified Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM®) holder since 2008, which signifies competency in the evaluation of the investment performance of investment firms. She earned a Double Bachelors Degree in Mathematics and Spanish with Honors from Claremont McKenna College.
Gordon Macshane II

Gordon Macshane is a Design Manager of RG Group Global Inc., responsible for the design management plan, design to budget process and developing and negotiating the Guaranteed Maximum Price submitted by the Design Builder in $150 million Design Build delivery of the new Intermodal Transportation Center West for the Los Angeles World Airport.
Prior to joining RG Group Global Inc., he served as Senior Project Field Manager for Parsons Corporation and job duties consisted of managing project staff, hiring positions for designated projects, and earned value management of services.
Gordon earned his Bachelor of Architecture (a professional degree like a BS) from Carnegie Mellon University during which time he served as team leader for the making of model displays of students’ virtual projects set in the City of Pittsburgh for an exhibition at the Carnegie Museum.

Isaac Molina is currently the National Sales Director for SS White Dental, a world leader in the manufacturing and selling of Dental Burs. He started this position on October 29, 2018. Prior to SS White Dental, Isaac worked for five years with Crosstex International, a Cantel Medical Company whom manufactures Dental and Medical Infection Prevention products.
Isaac has worked in sales and sales management over the last 20 years, with companies that include 3M, and Johnson & Johnson. Isaac worked at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip for four years in various roles, including the position of Logistics Manager. During his time at the House of Blues, Isaac was a member of the Lex Theater Company in Hollywood and had the opportunity to perform in live theater here in Los Angeles.

Sina Pourshirazi was born in Tehran, Iran in 1987. He was 15 years old when his family moved to California. Having experienced the oppressed lifestyle under the Islamic regime in Iran, Sina quickly fell in love with the American culture and his new lifestyle in the land of free.
He graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor degree in Cognitive Sciences from UC Merced. Originally his wish was to pursue a masters degree in Cognitive Sciences at University of California, San Diego.
However, his career path changed when he met the owner of Inovachem a company who offered him a job as a sales representative in 2012. Today, Sina wears many hats at Inovachem. He is responsible for all sales, marketing, advertising and operations of this chemical supplier company.

Pedro Quintanilla is the Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management for Los Angeles based, Firefighters First Credit Union where he is responsible for the oversight, development, deployment and management of the compliance communication process and regulatory change management processes for the Credit Union. His additional responsibilities include the insurance of the organizational compliance with all applicable requirements of Bank Secrecy, Anti-Money Laundering and Office of Foreign Asset Control regulations.
He serves as a primary liaison with legal counsel on corporate legal matters and managing the Credit Union’s vendor management program.

Eric Speck is an Independent Consultant for multiple healthcare corporations. His work consists of directing executive healthcare professionals to provide diverse clinical and business-oriented client services. Eric specializes in developing healthcare programs. He plans on using his professional background along with the skills he will obtain through the EMBA program to further his professional career and find, or develop, a role that is most satisfying.
Eric’s career as a Corporate Healthcare Consultant began when he was introduced to a group of physicians and pharmacists that specialize in performing professional independent third-party reviews, primarily for various insurance companies. Frank Zaccaria, Jr. has been in Higher Education for over 15 years, specifically in Public Safety. At Loyola Marymount University, Frank quickly rose in rank from Security Systems Manager to Associate Director of Investigations, where he was in charge of investigations pertaining to violations of the University Code of Conduct. Frank created new processes and partnerships with multiple campus and external entities. Frank was promoted to Director of Security Systems, where he successfully partnered with vendors and campus constituents on the University’s “OneCard” re-design and implemented the University’s first “tap” card-reader lock.
While attaining a BA in Music Composition at the University of San Diego, Frank began his professional career at the University's Department of Public Safety. Ruth is the founder and CEO of Plant A Seed, a non-profit that supports women and children in Cameroon, Africa. She oversees the organization’s vision, strategy, policies, fundraising and partnerships. She also works with Engineers Without Borders to provide clean water to villages in Cameroon.
Ruth is also a producer for features and short films with independent companies. She has acted on TV shows such as Grey's Anatomy, and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild. Ruth has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University, East Bay.

Omar served as the executive vice-president of Al-Siraj United Holding Company. A prominent investment firm in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Tammie is an audio visual coordinator for the IT division of Snapchat, Inc. She oversees internal and external audio visual events that occur in the United States and internationally. Tammie received her bachelor’s degree in human resource management from Troy University, Ala. Inka Franchise Corporation
Hector is the executive director of Inka Franchise Corporation, the parent company of El Pollo Inka, Pollo Inka Express and Inka Wasi, a national chain of family-owned Peruvian restaurants. He brings experience in operations, project management, employee development, human resources, website and social media management, finance and marketing. He also co-founded Inka Cares, the company’s charitable component, and is a member of the International Franchise Association.

Cathay Pacific Airways
Gladys is an administrative manager for Cathay Pacific Airways where she is responsible for more than 100 service agents supporting worldwide customers. Her budget and recordkeeping innovations have been responsible for streamlining operations, improving crew morale and increasing profit margins.
She is also the founder and CEO of Midnight Bite Pizzeria in Manila, Philippines. She oversees operations, human resources and distribution of financial and physical resources. She serves on the company’s board and supports the local community.

Assistant Vice President
City National Bank
Ricardo is an assistant vice president at City National Bank in the Finance Metrics and Profitability division. Working with the finance IT team, he develops requirements for streamlining workflow, implements and maintains upgraded reporting software, and manages the month-end reporting process and database integrity.
He previously worked with RBC Insurance as a senior financial analyst. Ricardo received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Penn State University.
Global Vice President of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs
Kevin is the global vice president of quality assurance and regulatory affairs at Rapiscan Systems, maker of airport metal detector and x-ray screening machines. He is responsible for developing the strategic quality plan and overseeing the quality, configuration management and radiation safety organizations.
Prior to Rapiscan Systems, he worked at Zodiac Aerospace where he managed the Los Angeles facility’s strategic quality plan and quality management system. Kevin has a master’s degree in quality assurance from California State University, Dominquez Hills, and a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology from California State University, Long Beach.
Warhol and Consultants
Ignas is the general manager of Warhol and Consultants, a management and consulting firm that helps companies mitigate risk. He oversees operations, budgeting, reporting and strategic planning.
Previously, he was general manager for LUKOIL, an oil company in Eastern Europe where he optimized company processes and structures that improved performance, built international teams, created short-and long-run strategies, and developed road maps.
Ignas received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Vilnius University in Lithuania.
Delta Galil Premium Brands
Erika is an accounting manager for Delta Galil Premium Brands supporting fashion brands such as 7 for All Mankind, Splendid and Ella Moss. In this role, she is responsible for financial reports, audits, budget reviews and staff development.
She previously held accounting and finance positions with 20th Century Fox, Burson-Marsteller, and in the manufacturing and commercial real estate industries.
Erika has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an accounting emphasis from the University of Colorado where she was a member of the snowboard team. She also studied at the University of New South Wales in Sydney.
EDN Aviation Inc.
Edan is the general manager of EDN Aviation Inc., a Velocity Aerospace Group Company. He oversees production and operations, budget management, profit and loss, and an FAA-approved repair and manufacturing facility. Previously, he served as director of business development where he led the expansion of a rapid product line, cultivated new capital acquisition and established a federal contracts division.
Edan has a bachelor’s degree in product development from The Art Institute in Orange County, Calif. He also taught STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education in rural Uganda where he helped to establish a primary school.

Daria is a senior account executive for the Los Angeles Times where she provides digital marketing and advertising solutions for clients. She was previously a senior manager of digital ideation for the Times and Tribune Publishing.
Daria began her career at Los Angeles FM radio stations KOST 103.5 and KBIG 104.3, where she held positions in marketing and promotions. She later became the integrated marketing manager for Clear Channel Radio.
Daria received her bachelor’s degree in communications from Chapman University.
Store Team Leader
Lucia is a store team leader at Target Corporation where she manages operations, profitability, team satisfaction and guest loyalty. She also oversees six executive team leaders with 175 team members.
Previously, Lucia served as a senior executive team leader and executive team leader. In both roles, she led the highest sales mix in apparel and accessories, and led operational excellence for her sales district. Lucia received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California, Riverside.
Saba is a project manager and member of the leadership team at Worldwide Produce, a wholesale food distributor. She oversees a broad range of projects focused on process change management and technical implementations.
She previously managed corporate operations for an artisanal gelato company in Irvine, Calif., where she oversaw franchising, manager training and administration.
Saba received her bachelor’s degree in economics and administrative studies from the University of California, Riverside. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Professionals and the Project Management Institute where she volunteers as a survey coordinator for the organization’s Los Angeles chapter.

Melissa is EVP and head of original series development for New Form, an original content entertainment studio. She oversees strategic development and production of new comedy, drama pilots and series as well as New Form’s creative vision.
Prior to New Form, she was SVP of creative development at Studio71 and executive in charge of production at Dreamworks Animation’s YouTube Nation. She began her career as a writer’s assistant for the award-winning television series The Sopranos.

Mia is the associate director of student services for the MBA Student Affairs Office at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management. She oversees case competitions, student associations, events, finance, marketing, operations and advising. Prior to this, she was program manager/interim director of the UCLA-UAI Global Executive MBA for the Americas, and customer relations manager for the Parker Career Management Center for UCLA’s full-time MBA program.

Prior to joining Cetera Financial Group in his role as a internal wealth management specialist, Kary worked for Scottrade, Inc. as a retail investment consultant. Before relocating back to Los Angeles, he worked for Bank of America and a boutique capital management RIA on Wall Street in New York City. Kary previously was on a senior private wealth management team at Wells Fargo Advisors as a junior partner and completed an internship at a formerly publically traded REIT.
He began his career in financial services at JP Morgan Chase in the fallout of the financial crisis and has spent more than 8 years working in investment financial services as a retail banker, investment consultant and a financial advisor. Kary earned his Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston.

Sean is the director of content services at Vubiquity, a technology provider in the global media and entertainment industry. He is responsible for financial analysis, forecasting, project management and North American sales.
Prior to Vubiquity, Sean worked at Sony Pictures Home Entertainment in client operations working with retailers Target, CD Warehouse and wholesale suppliers. He also worked at ABC affiliate WWSB in Sarasota, Fla., and in the wine industry.
Sean has a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from the University of Florida.
Alyssa van Hinte
Director of Customer Relations and Business Development
Alyssa is the director of customer relations and business development at SoftScript, a medical dictation and transcription company. In this role, she oversees customer service, system issues, workload updates, workflow, sourcing, marketing, sales and IT management.
She previously worked for Indie Cosmetic Brands where she helped drive consumer awareness of the cosmetics market, and grew brand equity through traditional and social media placements.
Alyssa received her bachelor’s degree in information systems with a business and communications concentration from Arizona State University.

Jacki is the director of human resources and corporate strategist for CoBird, Inc., a startup online retailer. She is responsible for the company’s vision and HR strategy to support its new campus and growing workforce, while overseeing internal finance and legal compliance.
Prior to CoBird, Jacki was a TV advertising executive at Hallmark Channel, and then transitioned to digital advertising at Viacom Inc., where she managed clients such as Disney, Paramount Pictures, Apple and Nordstrom. She later left the corporate world for Silicon Beach where she discovered her entrepreneurial passion for startups.
Jacki has a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from Loyola Marymount University.
