Jacob Guillen has been in supply chain role and management for over 9 years. Jacob is currently a Supply Chain Manager at Orchid Orthopedic Solutions in Arcadia, CA. Orchid Orthopedics is one of the top 10 contract manufactures in the US. He has been with his current company for 4 years and was promoted directly into manager from a production planner. At Orchid, he leads the planning, shipping, and procurement department. He is also in charge of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) for the site and leading Sales & Operations Planning (SOP) process and Material Requirement Planning (MRP) transformation.
Jacob began his career at US Synthetic in Orem, UT. He worked at US Synthetic from 2010 through 2015. He was promoted from production operator to production control within the first 10 months of working in the company. During his time at US Synthetic, he gained expert knowledge in lean manufacturing such as, Toyota production system, six sigma, and continuous improvement culture. US Synthetic is the world leader in diamond solutions. While he worked there in 2012, the company was awarded the Shingo Prize of Operational Excellence. It was while working there, that he gained his passion for leadership and in building a culture environment where employee engagement was key to company success.
Jacob went to School in Utah and received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at Utah Valley University. Jacob was born in El Salvador but moved to Los Angeles, California, as a child. He grew up loving football and his favorite team was the New England Patriots. Jacob also enjoys reading, live music, and all types of art. Jacob desires to continue his career in supply chain and operations management and strive to one day lead his own company.
