Master Sergeant Ryan Bell enlisted in the United States Army in 2002. He began his career as an Airborne Infantry Medic and served in Afghanistan. Upon completion of his first two tours he switched to Recruiting and Retention for the California Army National Guard. He is currently the Recruiting and Retention Section Chief for the California Army National Guard in Los Angeles.
In his current role, Ryan oversees and trains the recruiters stationed in Los Angeles, manages the marketing budget, determines recruiting objectives, and establishes strong working relationships on behalf of the California Army National Guard with local community and business leaders. He is also qualified as a FEMA liaison for the California Army National Guard.
Ryan has a B.A. in Political Science and Government from Ashford University. He is also a graduate of the Master Leaders Course from the United States Army. He is a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. He is an active member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoys mentoring Soldiers interested in becoming Non-Commissioned Officers. His awards include the Combat Medic Badge, Parachutist Wings, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and the Expert Recruiter Badge.
Ryan believes that attending the Executive MBA program at LMU will improve him as a leader to his current Soldiers, and set him up for success upon his retirement from the Army.
